New Opening Date Decided
Bandai Namco Amusement America has announced the opening date of October 30 for both the Bandai Namco Cross Store and Gundam Base at Mall of America in Minneapolis. This announcement comes a month after the originally scheduled September 30 date, with expressions of gratitude to the eagerly awaiting fans.
Existing Stores and Global Expansion
The opening of this new store is part of the effort to further expand the Bandai Namco and Gundam Base brands in North America. The Bandai Namco Cross Store opened its first permanent US location in Brooklyn in February 2025, and the Gundam Base launched in Chicago in December of the same year. In Japan, there are 13 stores, and they also have locations in London and Birmingham in the UK.
Gundam Base's International Presence
Gundam Base has more than 30 official stores worldwide, with the first store opening in Korea in 2003. The Tokyo Gundam Base opened in 2017, and there are stores operating in regions such as the United States, mainland China, Taiwan, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Germany, and the United Kingdom. These stores feature a lineup of collectibles, toys, games, and especially GUNPLA (Gundam plastic models).
