Yoshihiro Togashi's New Decision

Yoshihiro Togashi, the creator of the popular manga 'Hunter x Hunter,' has announced that due to physical and mental health issues, he will no longer accept work requests with deadlines. This decision is to allow him to focus on his own creations after completing his current assignments. The announcement was made on October 5 through his X (formerly Twitter) account.

Togashi has spent considerable time on health issues in the past, leading 'Hunter x Hunter' to go on hiatus multiple times. On September 7, it was announced that the series would enter another hiatus, approximately three months after resuming on June 29. Togashi reported completing the manuscript for Chapter 428 on September 15.

The Journey and Influence of Togashi's Works

Yoshihiro Togashi began serializing 'Hunter x Hunter' in Weekly Shonen Jump in 1998, and the series has since spawned two TV anime series, two films, multiple OVAs, and stage productions. It has sold over 100 million copies worldwide.

In the past, due to health issues forcing Togashi to take extended breaks, discussions were held with publisher Shueisha about the future serialization format, as weekly serialization was proving difficult. In December of this year, Togashi also reported completing names for two new chapters.

Impact on 'Hunter x Hunter' Fans

'Hunter x Hunter' enjoys a wide fan base, with its influence reaching both domestically and internationally. However, it is evident that the author's health must be prioritized. While respecting Togashi’s passion and effort for his work, fans are expected to continue supporting his health and creative endeavors in the long run.

Many are watching closely how Togashi's health and creative activities will unfold in the future. Further updates on the impact of his new decision are anticipated.
