A New Venture for the Takarazuka Revue
The Flower Troupe of the Takarazuka Revue is set to transform Akumi Agitogi's novel 'My Happy Marriage' into a musical. The performances will take place at the Takarazuka Grand Theater in Hyogo from June 26 to August 8, and at the Tokyo Takarazuka Theater from August 28 to October 10.
Cast and Direction Details
In this musical, the role of Kiyoka will be played by Uwakisan Umi, while Misaki Hoshizora has been cast as Miyo. The production will be directed by Daisuke Tabuchi. Additionally, it will be performed concurrently with another stage production titled 'MANHATTAN FOLLIES'.
The Original Work and Its Popularity
'My Happy Marriage' is a light novel series that began in 2019 by Akumi Agitogi, and has been adapted into both a television anime and a live-action film. The TV anime aired in July 2023 and was simultaneously streamed on Netflix. Furthermore, an original anime titled 'Shape of Happiness' was produced, with release set for November 4, 2024.
