French President Emmanuel Macron has announced the launch of a new theme park project near Paris, funded by Saudi Arabia. This project will receive an investment of approximately 6 billion euros (about 7 billion USD) and plans to build three theme parks in a new development area called Cergy-Pontoise, located about 30 kilometers from Paris.
Anticipation for the Dragon Ball Theme
One of the highlights of the project is the manga-themed park. It is widely reported that there is a high possibility of a theme park based on Dragon Ball being constructed, offering a space to enjoy the world of the popular Japanese anime series. This announcement was made during Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman's state visit to France.
Impact of the Large-Scale Project
This project is expected to bring a fresh wave to the theme park industry in France, marking the largest development since Disneyland Paris. It is anticipated to create 22,000 new jobs locally, contributing to the regional economy. There is also the possibility of it being constructed at the former site of the theme park 'Mirapolis'.
Funding and Stance on Human Rights Issues
While the project attracts attention for utilizing Saudi Arabian funds, some have raised concerns about human rights issues. However, President Macron's office has clearly stated, "We do not criticize other countries when attracting projects," emphasizing the focus on economic development.
The starting date for the construction or the opening date for the theme park has not yet been announced, but progress on the project is being closely watched.
