The official website for the highly anticipated anime project 'ghost - end of night' has released a new teaser video. The video confirms the participation of Mayu Hotta, who plays the lead role of Nikei, and Issey Takahashi, who plays the role of Masu. The film is scheduled to be released in Japan on February 11, 2027.
Story Set in a Future Society
The film is set in a near future where labor is no longer necessary, and it follows the story of a girl named Nikei who continues to seek the truth. Bandai Namco Film Works presents the story as one in which the protagonist, eager to know 'what is real,' challenges the order of a content society.
For director Shingo Natsume, who has previously made a name with works like 'ACCA: 13-Territory Inspection Dept.' and 'One Punch Man,' this is his first original anime film. Additionally, manga artist Natsume Ono is providing the original character designs, and Norifumi Kugai handles the character design for the anime.
Music and Media Mix Expansion
Bandai Namco Film Works will be distributing the film domestically, and the theme and insert song 'Sugar' will be performed by the alternative rock band Hitsujibungaku. Furthermore, a manga adaptation drawn by Himiko began serialization in KADOKAWA's Young Ace magazine on August 4th, expanding the project as a media mix.
Regarding the work, Director Natsume stated, 'I aim to create a work that resonates with the present while being fiction, and that pursues reality,' indicating it as an ambitious project that includes messages intended for modern society.
