The New Season's Setting: "Puni School"
"PuniRunes 4 PuniJect" will unfold its story set in the new "Puni School." This new season is slated to depict the everyday lives of the enigmatic creatures known as PuniRunes. The story weaves together the PuniRunes with a fourth-grade girl named Yuka, who loves soft, squishy things.
Takara Tomy's Pioneering Toy Series
The PuniRunes toy line stands apart from typical digital pets. Particularly noteworthy is the feature that allows children to insert their fingers into holes in the body and touch the soft creatures inside. This enables kids to create a special bond with their very own PuniRunes.
Introduction of the Director, Writer, and Design Team
The staff who have been involved since the first season are still on board. In the inaugural season, Kunihiko Yuyama, known for "Fairy Princess Minky Momo" and "Pokémon," served as the general director, with Kentaro Yamaguchi from OLM Digital directing the first season. Gigaemon Ichikawa has been responsible for the scripts throughout the series, and Sayuri Iseki ("Pokémon," "Tamagotchi!") handles character design. The duo that has supported the "PuniRunes" series' development continues to bring even more charm in this season.
Series History and Future Developments
Takara Tomy's "PuniRunes" toys have also been launched in the US and are now available to watch on YouTube. The first season aired from October 2022 to March 2023, the following second season began in October 2024, and the third season started in July 2025. As a result, "PuniRunes" continues to gain fans both domestically and internationally.
