A Comfortable Space Created by a Unique Fusion
Held on September 22 and 23, 2026, at the Institut français Tokyo in Iidabashi, 'The Tenth Mosaic' redefined games as 'the tenth art,' offering diverse events such as exhibitions, talk sessions, demos, and live music. The event exuded a unique atmosphere allowing attendees to enjoy art and culture as an extension of daily life.
The venue, Institut français Tokyo, impressed with its open and stylish space. In the courtyard, game music played, and captivating exhibits were displayed throughout. Particularly, from the DJ booth in the courtyard, stalls offering French food and wine lined up, with visitors enjoying a leisurely time.
Exhibition Reflecting on the History of Indie Games
Inside the venue, a special exhibition titled 'Indie Legacy Showcase' reflected on the history of Japanese indie games. Curated by Shuhei Yoshida, the showcase featured 15 works tracing the journey of Japanese indie games. These works were available for attendees to play, and Yoshida’s direct interactions with visitors left a strong impression.
Also, a talk session moderated by Yoshida was held, featuring guests such as Takumi Naramura of 'LA-MULANA' and Mr. Naru of 'SAKUNA: Of Rice and Ruin,' reflecting on the path of the Japanese indie game industry. This session attracted a lot of attention from visitors, with tickets selling out each time.
Talk Sessions Weaving Visuals and Music
In addition to visual exhibitions, talk sessions by game creators from Japan and abroad were highlights. Held in a theater-style hall, these sessions featured behind-the-scenes stories of game development and creator experiences, garnering praise from attendees.
In this way, 'The Tenth Mosaic' successfully offered visitors a unique experience by naturally integrating games and art. It was an event that shortened the distance to art and culture while providing new creative inspiration.
