To commemorate the 30th anniversary of Tamagotchi, Bandai will hold a special event titled 'Celebrating 3000th Anniversary!? Super Tamagotchi Festival in Shibuhara' from November 7 to December 6. The event, taking place in the Harajuku and Shibuya areas, will feature numerous programs and is free to attend.
An event themed around the 3000th anniversary theory
The event is based on a unique concept that suggests Tamagotchi might not be celebrating its 30th anniversary but its 3000th. The '3000th Anniversary!? Grand Excavation Project' began in August 2026, sparked by the discovery of a 'mysterious monument' at the TOKYO Toy Show. Artifacts and the history of Tamagotchi will be displayed for a limited time.
The 'Super Tamagotchi Festival' is packed with fun elements
The festival will feature exhibits of past devices, a special café, photo sticker booths, and the official shop 'Tamagotchi Factory!' There will also be a 'Super Tamagotchi Festival Stamp Rally' around cafés and apparel stores in Harajuku and Shibuya. Visitors can enjoy limited-time collaboration menus and a 'Tamagotchi Collection' game where they search for hidden Tamagotchis.
Introducing the new device 'Tamagotchi Paradise - Neon Planets'
In conjunction with the event, the latest series 'Tamagotchi Paradise' will introduce a new device, 'Tamagotchi Paradise - Neon Planets,' on November 21. Priced at 6,380 yen (tax included), this device offers over 60 items and 5 mini-games, featuring the 'Planet Shift' function that allows users to switch between multiple planets freely.
It is also possible to raise over 40 new Tamagotchis, with nostalgic characters making a return. Simultaneously, 'My Lab Tamagotchi' is also set for release on November 7, garnering attention as well.
