The Journey of the Manga Adaptation
The manga version of "Toshidensetsu Kaitai Center," which started serialization in Shueisha's "Ribon" magazine in April 2025, concluded its run in November 2026. This work is based on the game of the same name by Shueisha Games. The game is set in a center that disassembles and processes cursed relics and mysterious entities from other dimensions. The story follows the protagonist, Azami Fukurai, as she solves incidents related to urban legends under the supervision of Ayumu Meguriya, a "Level S Psychic."
From Game to Manga: The Cross-Media Development
The game version of "Toshidensetsu Kaitai Center" was released for PC on Steam in February 2025, and subsequently expanded to mobile devices for iOS and Android in March. Furthermore, a Nintendo Switch 2 version was released in October 2025, featuring mouse control with Joy-Con 2 and a gallery function to enjoy the game's artwork at any time.
A Message to Fans
Emi Ishikawa, the original manga artist, expressed her gratitude to readers and announced the end of the serialization through X (formerly Twitter). Additionally, Shueisha released the third volume of the manga on August 19, 2026. With the conclusion of the manga version, the cross-media development has reached a milestone, but the game continues to provide players with the world of urban legends.
